Today has been hell!!

Well sleeping wasn't that great, my husband had to go back to work and he works midnights so he wasn't here with me and then it seemed like every hour a nurse was coming in to give me breathing treatments, check my oxygen levels, take my blood pressure and take blood. Vacation... this is no vacation!

Today I walked a lot to try an relieve my gas pains that I have built up inside of me, but nothing will come out!! So I walk and walk and walk... I've even resorted to swaying back and fourth like I did when I was in labor with Morgan...lol

The doctor came in a few different times to check on me and then he reported to me that my hemoglobin was high and he wanted it to come down before I went home so I had to wait 6 hours before they would check it again to see if it came down any.

After on of my walks I was sitting in the chair and I felt wetness dripping from my stomach so I quickly pulled up my gown to see what it was and my pain pouch was all out so the medicine and blood was backing up and leaking from the tape... I was so scared... Ryan ran out into the hall and luckily the doctor was right their and he came in a took a look and was like "oh its okay" excuse me this is not okay I thought. But then he explained it and I understood it a bit more. He removed the tape "OUCH!!" and then removed the pain drip lines "BIGGER OUCH!!!" and now its fine.

They came back and took my blood to check my hemoglobin and it came back better but then I all the sudden has slight fever so they said that they would like for me to stay another night so I can be monitored.

Then a few hours later one of the nurses was checking me out and she noticed my arm that the IV was in was swollen... so she took a closer look and discovered that the vein had blown and the the IV solutions was just going into my arm... GREAT!! Well she took it out and then called the doctor to see if he wanted her to put another one in... thank god he sad no just keep up on the liquids.

So now I'm just trying my hardest to get this gas to come out and stay up with my liquids... all I can say/think is this will totally be worth it in a few weeks/months!

Night #2

Well today was much better. I can actually get in and out of bed by myself. I went down this morning and had my leak test .... where I drink this nasty stuff and they take pictures of my stomach to make sure nothing is leaking out, and everything came out great, no leaks. So this afternoon they gave me beef broth and jello which after going day's without eating was amazing!! They also took out my catheter. I was able to also walk around my floor of the hospital... it was slow but it helped. I got lots of phone call's and text messages which always makes me smile.

The doctor has came in a few times to check on me and he said that I am doing amazing and that I should be able to go home tomorrow as long as I can pass gas... which sounds funny but its so hard!!!

But I think tonight I am going to get lots of rest and relax.

Surgery Day

Well August 24th has finally come. We had to be at the hospital at 6am, surgery at 8am. I had quite a scare when we got there. They lady took me back just to give me a pregnancy test and also to take some blood. Well the day before I had to do the "cleaning out" nasty drink... it about killed me. Well I was so dehydrated that whey the lady started taking my blood I passed out and got blood everywhere. It was so embarrassing! But at least I could feel it coming on and was able to let the nurses know that they needed to stop and lay me down.

Then I was taken back to the surgery waiting area where I got my gown on and got on my compression socks on (to prevent blood clots). Finally at 8am on the dot I was wheeled in to the operating room... boy was it COLD!! I remember them giving me propofol through my IV and honestly I don't remember anything else. They had my bed next to the operating table and I don't even remember being moved over to that table.
Next thing I know I was waking up in recovery and it was noon. I stayed there a little bit more and then the lady told me that I was being moved to a room up on the 5th floor. I must have fell back asleep because I don't even remember being moved....lol.

My family came in and seen me and brought my daughter into see me which made it all worth while.

The pain is tolerable but uncomfortable. I looked at my stomach to see the incisions and it honestly doesn't look that bad.

The only bad part was that I couldn't eat and everyone had Subway.... :(

But its my first night so we'll see how it goes.
